I began my career as a biologist and teacher; then spent two years volunteering in Africa, and another year travelling overseas. For the past 22 years, I have lived and worked in Central Vancouver Island, providing counselling services and helping people to create healthier futures. I have successfully helped people living with all types of illness and injury, as well as those whose life circumstances have led to stress, anxiety, depression and a desire for change. I completed a Masters in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, post-graduate studies with the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute, and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#7098) and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.

I believe that everyone has the ability to make positive changes in their lives. As a counsellor, my job is to act as a catalyst: speeding up this natural process and helping you to get in touch with your own wisdom and solutions.

In addition to one-on-one services, I also lead lively group sessions focused on growth and empowerment.

I have specialized experience and training in:

Managing depression and anxiety
Living with chronic health conditions

Healing from traumatic events

Exploring and choosing careers

Building healthy relationships

Coping with grief and loss

Challenging eating disorders

Maintaining life/work balance
Reducing stress
Navigating life transitions
